yeah, the production is very rushed, it looks more like the studio is trying hard to achieve a wow factor with the audience but forgetting the lore of the novel, such as what you mentioned the shocked when seeing even a 100k red ring.
The deviation from the novel is starting to show the problems of not going back to the source of the novel
Tang San's opponent is Jianmo Douluo, the Demon Conqueror Douluo, by the way
I resonated with all your answers in this comment section,I was extremely baffled as well...we are not talking about 2, 100 rings but 4 , it seemed farfetched the way they weren't overwhelmed by it, anyways, this episode was my least favorite episode since I started to watch this, considering how hyped I was last week, this week own just made me hiss, I was eager for Saturday to come only to be shown this, I would be taking a break for some time most definitely, I have exams, I only came to watch it because the epic comeback made it seem I could expect something more today...very sad!!!!
Yeah I am somewhat disappointed in the direction the studio is heading, some people might disagree with me, but that is how I feel about it
There's another donghua coming out on the 28th April also by the same author of Douluo Daluo, so it will be waiting for you when you come back, called Throne of Seal
"While the demons were rising, mankind was about to become extinct. Six temples rose, and protected the last of mankind. A young boy joins the temple as a knight to save his mother. During his journey of wonders and mischief in the world of temples and demons, will he be able to ascend to become the strongest knight and inherit the throne?"
Also Wudong Qiankun third season is out on the 1st May, if you havent watched it yet, it is from the same author as Doupo Cangqiong, not to mention some more new donghua coming out at the end of the month, so plenty of donghua to tide you over when you come back :)
Wow thanks for the info, haven't been consistent with updates, I wonder if there are pages on Instagram that updates you on incoming donghua, I look forward to seeing you more though
Exactly. I honestly couldn't believe the opportunity they ignored with respect to his rings. Giant WTF. I hope they don't do the same thing when he becomes the SG too ๐คฆ
pls put that in spoilers!
Put what in spoilers?? Did you honestly think he wasn't going to inherit the SG when he's already at 85% affinity? They've literally announced it already in the show lol.
Yeah there are two things I'm disappointed in.
First thing is the song. I thought this song will be more epic then the Tang Hao one. But nothing can beat that scene and song.
Second thing is this appearance of Tang San and his team. I mean they came back after years and during a war. The scene should've been more dramatic and slow.
They took their time with the Training arc which was rather boring at a certain time but they can't take their time with cool epic fight scenes.
Indeed between TH's epic entrance on SH and Seven Treasure/Tang Sect entrance at Heaven Dou, I too was expecting something a little more dramatic. Although admittedly last week's ending was pretty damn good..
yup this is why I said before that Wanmei Shijie and Fanren are the only two non 10 minutes episodes series that I look forward to.
Hopefully Throne of Seal and Wudong Qiankong season 3 that are coming out on the 28 April and 1st May respectively wont disappoint and able to cleanse my taste from this foul changes to what would have been a good series, harsh but I feel it is true :P
So you also watch wanmei shijie . I also like it
Yes it is good, so far... but once the donghua reaches halfway in the novel, I will drop it, the novel (this will trigger someone who is the novel's fanatic, I dont care, since it is my opinion lol, he doesnt need to agree with me, neither does anyone else)
Oh no, and I was about to start reading the novel. Thanks for the heads up!
I mean it is just my opinion lol, you might enjoy it, but I found
- people still not learning to stay away from him and keep on trying to kill him
- him offending people where ever he goes
- the comedy about him eating beasts kind of gets stale after a while
- there are an erotic scene though which might be an interest to you :) but, it isnt consensual.... well... kind of but no...
- it gets darker and more serious after the halfway mark, and draggy
- I didnt like what the author did to all three of his waifus, especially two of them
- the ending didnt feel like a proper ending, it felt like there should be more, or at least a sequel novel
If you read it, and have a different opinion, let me know, I want to know if I am overreacting lol
No thanks. I trust your judgement. I think we are quite aligned with our likes and dislikes so far. ๐
lol I think I am going to read Throne of Seal, I just reread King of Gods for the 4th time lol, looking for something different, at the very least it will give some talking points when new episodes comes up lol
Thanks for being the guinea pig! Iโll be waiting for your verdict! ๐
That surprise *****er... You've been watching to many meme's lol
Probably
everything since the trials has been a daym rush and its annoying even working towards the trials while they went there on the ship was rushed and previous battles after he got his killer zone wer all rushed
I very much agree ๐ฏ

๐คฃ Maybe Flanders can get Shrek Pepe uniforms.
or Pepe can appear in the final arc lol
Pepe cameos ๐
Cant wait to see how Youtube Addict reacts to this episode lol
IKR, he/she nailed it this week. Honestly, I didn't think they'd actually do it and kill Qin Ming. Thought for sure he'd get injured and saved by Poison Douluo, but nope! Wow. I want some serious rage porn when TS finds out hahahaha.
mhm, I didnt expect them to do another Hongyi so soon, but they did it anyway, the studio is trying to boost up the anger towards the Wuhun empire and of course at the end the ending with
I know people who havent read the novel wont understand, but take it from me, if they followed the novel just a bit more, it would have been better, and the wow factor will be three times as much than what they are showing right now
right. novel was better.
Pepe!
I take it you were part of the Hong Kong protesters using these meme? lol
I cannot confirm or deny any questions which might lead to self incrimination, but I can confirm I was no where near Hong Kong during that time :P but I was and am aware that Pepe was used as a protest against the Hong Kong government during that time and not as a right wing symbol
Pepe!!
Considering how absolutely insanely rare it is for somebody to acquire even a single millennium century ring I totally would've expected that main Spirit Hall guy to have been more taken back at the sight of Tang San having four.
At the very least, that dude has got balls of titanium ๐
Exactly, this is what happens when a studio deviates from the source material and starts to make things up as they go along
I haven't read any of the original working so probably wouldn't really mind (or know for that matter) if they were to make any deviations every now and then, as long as they were actually made for a proper purpose that is, and not just because they simply wanted to try something. But in this scenario, dude's reaction just seemed really out of place and downright unrealistic for such a historically unheard-of reveal; especially in a show that makes a point of showing people's reactions to other's strength every chance they can get. For me at least, it seemed to almost do the opposite of hyping me up for the big battle, at the time when excitement should've been growing. Of course, the epic Tang Hao entrance from many episodes ago is going to be very difficult for them to match-up to again, but it's almost like they didn't even try in this instance with Tang San. I mean it wasn't horrible or anything but I'm sure I'm probably just additionally frustrated since the long-drawn-out sea god trials finally finish (for now at least) and so I was simply expecting a better showing for their big homecoming ๐
That's what I mean, not that they follow the novel, but at the very least part of the source where like you said, the reaction to even a single 100k ring should have been a jaw dropping experience and to see four rings, that should have given at least some hesitation.
I am not saying the episode is bad, just the presentation and wow factor of the whole homecoming isnt as potent as it would have been if they followed the novel. It would have met your expectation on their homecoming, but sadly it is what it is, given the situation with the lockdown and maybe the the allocated number of episodes for the entire series is coming to the end
Yeh, like you said, it is what it is. Wonder who's got it worse; me for going in blind with nothing more than hope and expectation, and then ultimately just having to deal with whatever I'm given; or you, who already has the knowledge of how the story is supposed to go but is susceptible to any alterations made, thereby opening the chance for potential dissatisfaction due to if you thought the changes were made for the worse or not ๐
The one's who read it have it worse lol, some changes are good, like Fanren, but some changes are reaaaaaaally bad like the ending of Yong Sheng lol
Point made ๐
Yeah agreed. As a Priest he is indeed very powerful--TS, at lvl 93 in the novel, had no easy time with him and his brother. But the total arrogance was a bit much for me. I guess that's what happens when you mentally pre-assemble scenes before they're released lol. I was expecting a similar shock to when TS dropped his first red ring on the Elements Sects when they were bullying Shrek, only on a grander scale. Idk...they did include it here. It just felt rushed and anti-climactic.
Qin Ming death had a massive epic part when he sacrificed himself how you heard the wolf howl i think that embodies a powerful part of his death. I think i got his name right if not ppl will correct me. As for Tang San they decided to still fight after noticing his millennium rings? Dude i may have ran away then and there. No need to see him go all out.
That cliffhanger when he pulls out the trident hurt my soul i was ready. Overall great episode but seems a bit rushed. Judging by XW she is a plot device so her opponents should be down with one hit just saying if we were to account how her character done this on numerous occasions while weaker.
To wait one week to watch 10 minutes.. itโs so lame. I will wait 6 months maybe then I will enjoy a little more
Since people are confused. 100,000 years Soul Rings (Red) =/= 10 times stronger than 10k years soul ring (Black)
It was explained in the novel through Grand Master Yu Xiaogang.
After reaching level 90, the gap in strength between each level becomes vast.
A level 96 is about 2.6 times stronger than a level 90, while due to level 97 being about 30% stronger than 96, while 98 is about 40% stronger than 97 and level 99 is about 50% stronger than level 98. This makes level 99 about 2.7 times stronger than level 96.
So level 96 is 2.6 times stronger than level 90 (6 levels gap)
Level 99 is 2.7 times stronger than level 96. (3 levels gap)
While a level 99 is about 7 times stronger than a level 90.
A level 50+ is also roughly 2.6 times stronger level 10+
They are comfortable with soloing a party of 6 level 10s using brute force with a 2.6 times difference in raw power.
But because higher levels means they are more experienced, skilled and have more options (more skills + more likely to have Spirit Bones) 2.6 times gap doesn't necessarily mean you can solo a whole party. Dugu Bo (93) also proved that Hidden Weapons can help him surmount the 3 levels difference with Chrysanthemum Douluo (96) in an earlier episode.
It is precisely this huge gap between a level 96 and level 85 - More than 2.6 times gap. That makes the guy comfortable with taking TS on after being surprised by the 4 Red Rings.
Think the confusion stems from this:
The spirit rings produced by spirit beasts of different level main difference to spirit master is what attribute it adds as well as the capacity to master its ability. For example, if using the quantitative angle of view, with your blue silver grass spirit with the control system tool spirit master route, and you obtain a compatible attribute ten year spirit ring, then your blue silver grassโ control nature can increase by ten. But if it was a hundred year spirit ring, then your blue silver grassโ control nature would increase by a hundred. And so on. Consequently, whenever possible, spirit masters as much as possible
pursue enhancing their spirit even more. -Yu Xiaogang chapter 8
That points to what I thought was one of the glaring flaws in the novel. While percentages describing the differences between SMs in the 90s is helpful as a guide, it never was satisfactorily reconciled with the influence of spirit rings, especially at the upper level. At times the author's inconsistencies were laughable. The WHOLE point/theme of the novel is that talent + hellish experience can transcend what *should* be possible on paper. I'm reminded of when TS returns to Clear Sky, and the (2nd?) Elder, in complete shock, says (of TS), "How......did you do it?" And TS says, "With great difficulty and suffering." Best quote in the novel imo. If every encounter could be neatly explained by cultivation level deltas, spirit rings/bones (the best part of the power system) become meaningless and the entire spirit of the novel is undermined lol. Numbers are fine if you're comparing two SMs with perfectly aligned spirit ring configurations and ages--I get it. But it was always my general impression that the author, at times, understated the true power of red rings. I appreciate/accept the fact that cultivation level is largely the deciding factor in outcomes, but it begins looking COMPLETELY ridiculous when one character haughtily disregards or is immune from spirit attacks up to 10X his own because #cultivation lol. And I think this touches on people's visceral response to the lack of emphasis on TS's rings in this episode..
Totally agree, the author never truly explained what the rings truly affects, only that spirit beast's ages affects the user's nature, like what the author wrote, control was used as an example, but what if we used attack system instead, so it means their attack nature increases depending on the spirit beast's age, so in other words that would mean their strength.
It will be weird if the rings doesnt affect the strength of the user, if so, then might as well just catch a 100 years beast and be done about it, sure a 100k ring is harder to kill and the shock of having one would make one a target of envy, but if it doesnt affect strength then what is the point of going out to obtain the highest age rings? Just so their nature is strengthened? So their control is 100x better? their attack system is better? their speed is better? then it does mean their strength(not just talking about physical strength) is increased depending on the age of the ring
Yeah, most viewers, regardless if they read the novel or not, would see that so he has four 100k rings, yet the reaction is kind of meh, wha-what?? Anyone douluo who attempts to solo a 100k spirit beast knows that it is very difficult and perhaps impossible without the help of others. and going up against someone that possesses four of them, the reaction is "yeah ok, gonna crush you anyway" - huh????
I blame the studio :P As mentioned before I rather they actually stopped producing the donghua, take a break, focus on what is happening with their situation at the moment, and then come back to it after the lockdown is over, sure kudos to their dedication to viewers in continuing to release new episodes, but if they can do that to Soul Land, what about Swallowed Star? same studio by the way. where is their dedication there? lol
BINGO--couldn't have expressed my current sentiments better. And Swallowed Star....yeah. Ugghh, I really miss that one ๐
Well...it seems my worst fear was realized and the setup for old Ghost is complete. Even in the novel his (Ghost) fate wasn't pretty, but when TS finds out about Qin Ming he's gonna go f'ing ballistic, Asura style. I hope they give QM a heartfelt sendoff--he was really instrumental in Shrek's early development and such a good friend to them all ๐ญ.
NGL, I was a little disappointed with the beginning though. TS dropping four red rings (showing each in succession) should have been a highly dramatic/emphasized moment--possessing one already puts him with GOATS; four is incomprehensible. Instead everything felt rushed--no doubt a consequence of the current production/working challenges. Even the priest should have expressed shock and alarm. His immediate arrogance in the face of such power is unrealistic to me and seemed to minimize TS's insane ring configuration. Your typical TD has five black, meaning TS matches one black, and the other four are up to 10 TIMES the age/power of the remaining black rings LOL. Any TD shrugging off a 100k yr spirit ability attack is total BS, even if TS is yet "untitled".
Which leads me to something I really liked here: TS fighting the priest at only 85 and more than holding his own. While I hate OP characters, I don't think this priest is beyond TS's ability, esp considering his ring configuration and what he did on SG Island. In the novel TS was already lvl 93 when he faced off with Jianmo and his brother and had no easy time with them.. So I liked that production advanced the narrative, so to speak LOL.
And how about Fatty's 8th against that nearly TD lvl sword spirit master! ๐ง๐ช๐ป WOW. Also loved how Oscar was handily going toe with that bastard Yan. I just loved seeing him get smacked by a food spirit master. SURPRISE *******er ๐คฃ And while Mubai/ZZQ's Hell White Tiger was an impressive debut, just wait until they both get titled. Even TS said, much later in the novel, he'd be loath to face it. Damn, even XW kicking ass this week.
